The Connor Chronicles Volume XCVI

Well, its that time of year. That time of year where we all give thanks. And yes, that means the annual list of things I’m thankful for……so lets get started!

I’m thankful for the train wreck that is Britney Spears…..sure, just like all of you I want her to go away, but lets face it, when sitting there with family tomorrow, when that brother, sister, cousin, parent, child, inlaw (remember mine are jacobsons) does something to send you ove the edge…..remeber it can always be worse….they could be Britney…..or Paris or anyone of the other losers.

I’m thankful for Isiah Thomas & James Dolan. If ever I falter at work, I can always look to these 2 guys one who coaches one of the greatest franchise teams in sports and one who runs MSG/The Knicks/The Rangers and know that at my worst I DO A MUCH BETTER JOB (and I suck at my job) than these 2 idiots.

I’m thankful for Mayor Bloomberg…..for some of the best unintentional comedy there is nothing better than a mayor with Napolean complex!

I’m thankful for whoever is the marketing firm for Geico! Seriously….i want to hang out with Ben Winkler! (I hope you get that joke)

I’m thankful I took 2 years of Spanish in high school so that I can read the mets roster!

I’m thankful for High Definition TV….not for sports, but for watching Las Vegas!

Ok, I’m thankful for sports in HD too….who am I trying to kid!

I’m thankful Barry Bonds got indicted, not because he cheated….i mean that list of ballplayers is endless…. But because he comes off as such a fucking prick!

I’m thankful for deep frying! We will be deep frying our turkeys tomorrow. And the way I look at it, is this. If you have a deep fryer big enough to fit a turkey, just think how many mozzarella sticks you can fit in there!!!!!

On a related note, I’m thankful that my brother in law is a fire fighter as the odds on a fire when deep frying a turkey are much higher than they are when lets say deep frying onion rings. Something to do with the 5 gallons of oil sitting over an open flame….but hey, what do I know.

I’m thankful that we all survived “The Race Of The Century”……..although some survived better than others!

I’m thankful FHM magazine is out of business……after all, it was degrading to women. Now Maxim, that’s a fine publication! Especially the one with Christina Aguillara on the cover….shes dirty!

And finally, I’m thankful that you humor me by reading the rants, raves and drivel I write. Everyone should have a place to vent, release, relax or however you wish to term it. This is mine.

One announcement….not sure what anyone is doing tonight. Jen and I are going to try get our butts home early as we are hosting the Jacobson clan tomorrow (yes, im living in purgatory) and have a ton to do……HOWEVER. Joey Mayo (aka joey hellman) makes his Eternal Sounds DJ’s front line debut this evening. Joey has helped out on random jobs before. However, tonight at KC Moores, for the most part it will be his gig to ruin….err, I mean run…..im confident he can do that! I’ll be on site to get him started and ensure nothing blows up, but will be getting out of there early…..I HOPE!!! Start time, 9:30.

Ironically, despite it being late November, if Joey puts in more than 3 hours behind the equipment he will surpass Tom’s total at KC Moores for the year! So if you’re not doing anything stop by and request songs from Joey….hell make up songs if you want and tell him he sucks when he doesn’t have them! All I know is he better not play all Dirty Dancing and Barry Mannilow….as you know, hes a fannilow.

And finally, here’s wishing you and your families a very Happy Thanksgiving! For those of you taking to the roads tomorrow, safe travels.

And lastly, veterans day was last Monday. Keep those men and woman of our armed forces, past & present, in your list of things to be thankful for!
