The Connor Chronicles Volume LXXVI

Let’s talk about sports starting with KC Moores 2 Co-Ed team. Mike Haggerty decided to make an appearance last night for the first time in a long time and we quickly started playing like he was back in the middle of the lineup.

Only a twelve year old boys baseball team will drop more balls in a season…..come on think about it….get it yet?

Seriously we were terrible….in 2 games I had 3 at bats! Our offense went from prolific to prophylactic.

We left more people at 2nd and 3rd base then future nuns on first dates! And the other team scored almost as much as priests.

Ok….let me step aside as the lightning strikes.

Wow…just looked at the TV (busy at work ya know) and Tiger is plus 10 and just into a bunker…..tigers not gonna make the cut.

H makes a good point about Ben Bonehead Rothlesberger. He wears a helmet for a living, but he doesn’t wear one on a motorcycle! Seriously, if the NFL told him he didn’t have to wear one during games would he not put it on? What a freaking moron.

How’s that Mavericks sweep of the Heat going? Mark Cuban’s crying more than a kid being circumsized.

Can the Hurricanes hurry up and beat the Oilers already….i want to put on my new Carolina shirt man.

On a good note….i’m sure I’m the only loser who saw this, but game 3 in Edmonton the other night. Some guy comes out to sing both the American & Canadian national anthems. He does the American first and every single person in the stands stood. More impressive was that at least 25% of the Canadian fans in attendance sang our national anthem with their hands over their heart. Then the guy sings the Canadian national anthem and after the first verse he holds the mic up and the entire crowd sings the rest….including Canadian players. It was really impressive. Meanwhile we can’t get everyone to stop talking at Shea or Yankee stadium during our own Anthem.

Speaking of Yankee stadium. Let’s talk A-Rod. First off I agree that he has failed many many times in clutch situations. I also feel that hey, you pay for your ticket you can boo all you want. But the guy WAS the player of the month for May. He is the reason you stayed in first throughout May. And you are destroying him now. Last year he was the league MVP….you gonna tell me that none of those 48 home runs last year were clutch? I remember a huge triple against the SOX, a huge home run against the Mets. And I’m not a Yankee fan, these are just games that I remember.

And I love Jeter….he is amazing. I consider David Wright to be what Jeter was 10 years ago, young world of talent, leading the team doing the right things. I can only hope that Wright follows that path. However for Jeter to not back AROD, especially after backing Giambi last year is a joke. Stop driving around in car commercials with Spike Lee and stick up for your team…..your supposed to be the TEAM captain.

Tigers in another bunker….spending more time at the beach than his bikini model wife.

I’m going to the Mets game on Monday night……so you can count on them to win the next 3 this weekend and get crushed Monday. I’m to the Mets what Mike Haggerty is to our softball team!

By the way it’s not just Yankee fans who need a reality check. It’s NY baseball fans who really have no clue. Mets fans booing Beltran opening day. These are the same people who call into sports radio and say that the Mets or Yankees should trade their 3rd string triple A catcher for Albert Pujols. They simply don’t have a clue.

Word Cup soccer……..yes, when there is a scoring chance it is reasonably exciting. But there are what 6 of those a game if you are lucky. Let’s say each one lasts about 5 seconds. That is half a minute of excitement in a 90 minute game. Sorry, just can’t do it.

Jimmy Jacs writes in (in crayon of course) wondering with the cruelty of kids today will kids tease Shilo Pitt by calling her Pile O Shit! My response, YES, especially if she ever meets Aly on the playground!

Hey Tiger hit a green!

That must mean it’s time to wrap this up. Besides it’s time for lunch!

Thanks to all those who supported the Downing Picnic And LVD Run to Remember this past weekend.

Tomorrow is the Texas Hold’em tourney at the center.

The Tommy Miney BBQ has been added to the Events Page – September 16th.

Once again in the words of the immortal Ralph Kiner, Happy Birthday to all you fathers out there this Sunday! Especially those of you with new ones this year!

Some of our friends lost their dad’s this year. Keep them in mind on Sunday.

Root on those Mets Big Irish! Have a beer with Carl & Peter for us.

As always, until next time, stay safe, later,
Dan
