The Connor Chronicles Volume LXXV

Ok, it’s been a while. You can all blame my brother Charlie for that. If he didn’t talk me out of joining the NYPD I would be retiring this month. Then I would know what it’s like to be Schmeds….oh no wait, he only worked what 3 years?

Now I know I drank a great deal Saturday night, but did Tom really have to be put to bed while Tracey stayed out? Seriously, what kind of odds could we get on Face outlasting Tom (well sexually I’m sure its not a problem a cool breeze blows by and Tom blows a wad…..yeah, I figured we’d cross the line early today)….ok where was I yeah, so what what were the odds on her staying out longer than TOM & SCHMEDS? Hell, I really could have retired this month if I only put that bet in.

It was Preakness day but Claire & Kerri decided to wear their Kentucky Derby bonnets which was pretty damn funny. It was like a flashback to the Donovans days of years past. I mean Chris Santangelo busting his butt behind the bar while Jacs stood around BSing. Hell, the only thing missing was Mike Hags puking up melon balls by the dumpster, a read the shirt comment & Larry getting smacked…oh wait that might have happened.

It was another hugely successful Tommy Ashton tournament which has now become the annual kick off of summer event. For some reason I’m looking forward to this summer more than usual…..this despite spending all day last Sunday on the couch. And we follow it up with this 3 day weekend……do they sell livers on eBay?

If there is any justice in the world Barbaro will heal fully and spend his life having more sex than a $10 crack whore.

The guys in the Yankee bullpen that are supposed to get them to Mo Rivera…..seriously, if I just list there names it could be the funniest thing I’ve written in years! Seriously, Ron Villone, Scott Ericson, Mike Myers, Kyle Farnsworth, Scott Proctor & Coltor Bean….come on…that’s pretty damn funny.

While I’m at it the other night the Yankee outfield was from left to right Terrance Long, Bernie Williams & Melky Cabrera…..now Bernie was a great Yankee, but at this point couldn’t Kirk Fay get a start over him in center field?

Sure my 39th birthday passed and I’m that much closer to 40, but then Harry’s birthday rolls around and I see he’s getting closer to 50 (age, passed by that waste size years ago)….which leads me to the fact that McKenna must already be 50. Boy does that put a smile on my face!

While I’m picking on family….Kenny turned 31 on Wednesday……on Saturday his eyeglass frames turn 21….i’ll buy them their first beer.

With the arrival of summer it means the sites around the city are back…..and it’s this time of year that I’m thankful that I have one eye that never actually looks like its looking at what its really is looking at. You call it a deformity….I call it a gift!

24 is still a great show & they’ve set up next season to be tremendous. But they definitely a little far fetched this year. I mean in one day Jack’s PDA was used as a phone, a sattleite image display, a fax machine and a vibrator….ok I made that last one up, but is it more far fetched then the others?

Alright, that’s all for now….a few announcements, check out the events page for details. Also, 2 things before the announcements.

First, there are major checkpoints around this week and next. The other day they stopped every car leaving manhattan on the 59th street bridge right at 5pm during rush hour…didn’t care about the traffic effect. Then on Tuesday they stopped every car leaving one of the Shea parking lots. Be SMART….more importantly…be SAFE.

Second, everyone have a great time this weekend. But at some point…take a second to remember what the holiday means. Thanks to Soldier Girl and all those that serve…current, past & future.

Announcements:

June 9th KC Moores Trivia Challeng (Friday night after Happy Hour)
June 10th LVD Walk
June 10th Downing Family Picnic
June 17th Center Texas Hold’em (making a donation to MS Research this time around too)

Rest In Peace Uncle Dinny!

As always, until next time, stay safe, later,
Dan
