The Connor Chronicles Volume CXV
I have not written a Chronicles in ages. Something tells me I’m going to have less time to write moving forward. Perhaps I can get a ghost writer. Maybe Manti Te’ O’s girlfriend can take the job. Hey, Big Bird had Snuffleufagus, Harry has Pete, Manti had this chick. Hope Harry doesn't read this and realize Pete's not real.
I’m sick and tired of all of these politicians using the death of 20 children for their grandstanding. We already have some of the toughest gun laws in the world……….I don’t care how tough you make the gun laws. None of it matters if you don’t enforce the laws. Instead we treat these laws like I treat my plans to lose weight.
We have 2 choices, strictly……..and I mean diligently……..enforce the laws, or let everyone carry a gun. Cuomo, Obama, and the rest of these grandstanding tools are selling a big bucket of bull shit. Don’t buy it.
Thanksgiving rolled by and I didn’t get a list of things that I’m thankful for out. So….
Im thankful for serving on Grand Jury duty……..some sad cases, but man, some dumb…dumb criminals in the world and its just funny.
Im thankful for deep frying……….is anyone out there NOT thankful for deep frying? Is there anything you cannot deep fry?
Im thankful for the upcoming Grammy awards……….I really enjoy blogging it. So make sure you join us!
While I’m on music, I’m thankful for a great year in music…..some great new albums out there from Jack White to the Black Keys………and an impressive Who tour.
I’m thankful for the 12-12-12 concert……some great performances, some not so great performances….the boys from Shepards Bush showed once again that they love the garden and NYC……..and Chris Martin, a guy absolutely on top of the game, showed us that even celebrities can be humbled…….and I’m mostly thankful for the verification that it’s okay to hate Kanye West.
I’m thankful for Honey Boo Boo……..it makes me realize that all of my family and friends are doing a great job raising their kids.
I’m thankful for hockey season starting………….apparently nobody told the Rangers.
I’m thankful for good people……..there are way more of them in the world than bad……..but every once in a while I’m thankful for bad people…..they can be fun.
I’m thankful for the letter X……….I love X……I love it so much I keep adding it to my shirt size.
While I was, you know, standing around not doing anything the last few months Christmas snuck up and passed me by. Here are some Christmas gifts I would have liked to seen given:
A blow up doll for Manti Te’O……maybe it could have solved some problems.
A clue for Woody Johnson………I mean it’s bad enough to go through life with the name Woody Johnson, but to let a fat bastard like Rex Ryan make you look like a dick is just bad.
A couple of kilo’s of coke for Charlie Sheen…….I’m in the mood for another meltdown!
A reincarnation of Mr. Lobardo…….someone has to fix Tom Haggerty’s baseball glove from 1975…..it has to make it to its 40th birthday!
Ummm…..a manual on how to run a restaurant for me and Jacs……just saying
Speaking of which, today is when it all starts. We are going to give it all we have. I’m sure we will hit some bumps (okay, some mountains), but we will work our way through them. We just ask for your patience, and of course your support. Without your support, well, quite simply, we cannot make it.
We are Woodsiders through and through, but it all started with St. Sebastian’s. Is it just a coincidence that we take over this Woodside Landmark on the day that is The Feast of St. Sebastian?
Next week is the Youth Council Dance. Call Harry and get your tickets, let’s go folks! 718-672-8989, also a few giant raffles left.
I found out last night that Mrs. Kelly is not feeling well and is having a procedure performed on Tuesday. It’s hard enough being the mother of Schmeds, so she really doesn’t need this. Please keep a good thought for Mrs. Kelly and her family.
Lastly, please keep a young Woodsider who some of you may know, Michael Haugh, in your prayers. Michael is in the hospital with significant injuries.
I guess that’s it for now
As always, until next time, stay safe, later,
Dan
